Dan Schulte Trio

Dan SchulteBassist Dan Schulte, Pianist George Mitchell and Drummer Carlton Jackson have been playing music together on the local Portland jazz scene for over 20 years.

Mr. Schulte covers the entire spectrum of double bass, ranging from classical, symphonic bass to broadway musicals and modern jazz. He is a bass instructor at Portland State University and Clark College and has appeared on over 20 recordings, most notably "Western Rebellion", featuring Mel Brown, pianist Gordon Lee's "Rough Jazz", Alan Jones sextet "Unsafe" and "Leroy Vinnegar Suite", Chris Woitach's "Family" and Shirley Nannette's "See You Later", and Russell Baba with pianist Andrew Hill.
