Sherry Mowatt is a third generation professional artist - her father was a nationally recognized sculptor, her grandmother, an established painter working in oils and watercolor. She spent her artistically formative teenage years in Wayne, New Jersey , in the family home built in 1696.
A 35 year resident of Clark County, Sherry's artistic interests include co-founding the Fort Vancouver Tapestry Project - adjudged a WA State Legacy Project in 1998 , working with Timberline Lodge to replicate hand stitchery originally created in the 1930's, and serving as a Judge for the Clark County Fair.
For the last 11 years, Sherry has sung with the Bravo! Vancouver Chorale as a Soprano. She accompanied Bravo! to Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2009, and currently serves as the Fine Art & Craft Manager for the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival, a position she's held for three years.
In Sherry's free time, outside of the Vancouver School District, she enjoys constructing large scale woodworking projects, perfecting her growing interest in a wide variety of fiber arts mediums in her personally designed studio adjacent to her home and tending to her flock of chickens.
