Sunday Performances: Beacock's Community Jazz Band
3:15 - 3:45 PM
5:00 - 5:30 PM
6:45 - 7:15 PM
The Beacock's Community Jazz Band is the perfect model of lifelong music education. Playing in a band or orchestra might be something you have always wanted to do, but you simply found the notion to be a bit intimidating or you might have thought that you couldn't do it. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Beacock Music Concert and Stage Band were started just for those people who may have missed learning how to play an instrument back in their school years, and now they regret it. It is also for those people who played back in school, but have then spent many years building careers and raising families.
The ensemble is led by director Gene Burton, a music educator with more than 40 years teaching and professioinal performing experience. Learn more and see their success at: BAND WEBSITE

Mr. McKelvey's Advanced Jazz Band recently took First Place in the West Salem Jazz Festival. See their success at: BGHS Music Website
This year the Festival has created a Music Education Stage. This stage provides an opportunity for student musicians - from high school to adults - to perform at the Festival prior to each headline Main Stage performance. Our vision is to eventually create a Jazz Camp for students of all ages, and to bring our headline musicians to the Festival to teach and provide master class presentations. If you want to support this Music Education stage, please contact Artistic Director Dr. Michael Kissinger on our CONTACT page.
