Directions from Portland, OR and all points south:

  • Take I-5 North across the Columbia River to Vancouver. 
  • As you cross the bridge, stay in the right lane. 
  • Immediately after crossing the bridge, exit right onto the "City Center/6th Street, Exit 1-B." 
  • Follow the ramp around the loop and back under I-5. 
  • As you go under I-5, you are now on "C" street; go 1 block to 8th Street and turn left on 8th Street. 
  • Go 3 blocks to Columbia Street.
  • The Festival entrance is at 8th & Columbia

In the words of Bobby McFerrin, "Don't worry, be happy!" You are attending a cultural arts event featuring internationally acclaimed GRAMMY-winning and Blues Award-winning musicians, as well as world-class local and regional musicians and 'up-and-coming' student musicians.  Turn off your cell phone and stroll around with your date or friend.  Look at all the fine art and crafts and buy something beautiful.  Taste and sample some lovely wines.  Sit in the sun or shade and enjoy a meal.  Check out our participating sponsors and exhibitors, see all the cool things they have to offer.  Have a GREAT time!  Above all else - be nice to your neighbors...be respectful of other people...thank our volunteers...and be kind - it will echo back to you. 


Seating:
Seating is General Admission.  Seating is grass seating or on blankets.  Chairs: only low-back lawn chairs or sand chairs are permitted.  Please do not bring tall lawn chairs because people behind you want to see too!  If you bring a tall lawn chair, you must be seated to the far left or far right of the stage – not in the center.  Please be respectful of other people. The Festival does not provide chairs.  There is no reserved seating.  Do NOT take or remove a folding chair from a VIP area, or any area of the park—these are FESTIVAL chairs.  Please pay attention to any signs which may indicate designated seating such as “blanket” or “chair” or “handicap” etc.  Esther Short Park is owned by the City of Vancouver and is ADA compliant according to the City of Vancouver.  The park is handicap accessible for wheelchairs and walkers, according to the City of Vancouver.

​ID, Admission & Wrist Bands:
BRING YOUR ID.  Photo ID is required to enter for proof of age!!  Discount tickets purchased online are at WILL CALL.  A Festival Ticket is admission to the Festival.  There is not a separate ticket for concerts performances.  All online tickets are Adult General Admission.  Actual day-of-show Gate Tickets prices may vary from the currently published internet Gate Ticket price. All concerts are subject to change. No refunds.  No exchanges. No Rain Checks.  All sales are final.  Online ticket prices and Gate ticket prices are subject to change due to demand.  All performances are rain or shine.  Children aged 12 and younger are FREE with a paid adult.  A Festival Wrist Band and hand stamp must be worn at ALL times, and is required for re-entry.

Kids and Family:
We are a family friendly cultural arts event, open to all ages.  We want your children to hear the music and see all the fantastic fine art – maybe there is a budding jazz musician, painter, sculptor, or other artist out there!  With that in mind, children aged 12 and younger are admitted FREE with their parents or adult guardian.  However, ALL children and minors under the age of 21 MUST be accompanied AT ALL TIMES by a parent or adult guardian.  Period.  No exceptions.  No one under the age of 21 may buy, consume, or possess alcohol at any time.  All persons under the age of 21 are restricted from the premises at 9:00 pm.  This includes staff and volunteers.

Purchasing Alcohol & Minors:

  • All patrons are required to have in their possession a valid ID for proof-of-age to purchase alcohol at the point of sale.
  • Be prepared to show your ID at all points of sale.  Everyone that appears youthful will be asked for ID at the point-of-sale regardless of your "Over 21" wristband, per the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB)
  • All adults are required to wear a hand stamp and Festival Wristband that says “Over 21”
  • All minors are required to wear a hand stamp and Festival Wristband that says “NO ALCOHOL”
  • Curfew: all minors are required to exit the Festival by 9 PM, per order of Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board
  • RCW 66.44.270 states: (1) It is unlawful for any person to sell, give, or otherwise supply liquor to any person under the age of twenty-one years or permit any person under that age to consume liquor on his or her premises or on any premises under his or her control. (2)(a) It is unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one years to possess, consume, or otherwise acquire any liquor. 


Restrictions & Limitations - because it must be said:

  1. Per WSLCB regulations and Special Occasion Permit licensing: outside beverages are not permitted inside the Festival.  YES - this includes water, coffee, soft drinks, sodas, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ANY REASON.
  2. Outside food of any kind is NOT PERMITTED.
  3. Outside beverage of any kind is NOT PERMITTED.  This includes bottled water, coffee, and all beverages.
  4. Outside coolers, glassware, corkscrews, or wine openers are NOT PERMITTED.
  5. Outside alcoholic beverages may not be brought into or consumed at the Festival.
  6. If you bring any food or beverage to the Festival gate, security will not allow you to enter.  Please leave this at home.
  7. ALLOWED: EMPTY refillable water containers (such as a Yeti) are allowed.  However, they must be EMPTY at the Security Station prior to entering.  There are water bubbler fountains inside the park where you may refill your empty container.
  8. You are REQUIRED to show a valid Photo ID at the gate for admission.  You will not be admitted without a valid Photo ID.
  9. A valid Photo ID is a: 1) USA State Government issued Driver's License; 2) Military ID Card; 3) Passport; 4) or other official government-issued valid Photo ID such as TSA Photo ID. 
  10. Photo ID is REQUIRED at the gate for admission and age verification to purchase alcohol scrip and may be checked periodically in the Festival where alcoholic beverages are sold and served.
  11. After your ID is checked and admission is paid, and if you are age 21 and older, an “Over 21” wristband will be placed on your wrist, along with an official hand stamp.  You must show your “Over 21” wristband and hand stamp to purchase alcohol. 
  12. Per WSLCB regulations, be prepared to show your photo ID at each point of sale when purchasing alcohol.  Everyone that appears youthful will be asked for ID at the point-of-sale regardless of your "Over 21" wristband, per the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB)
  13. People under the age of 21 will be issued a “NO ALCOHOL” wristband. 
  14. You will not be admitted without the wristband and hand stamp.  Anyone in the Festival without a wristband and hand stamp will be ejected.
  15. No one under the age of 21 may buy, consume, or possess alcohol at any time.
  16. All persons under the age of 21 are restricted from the premises at 9:00 pm.  This includes staff and volunteers.
  17. All Tickets are General Admission, ages 13 and older. 
  18. People under age 21 are REQUIRED to be accompanied by an adult parent or legal guardian at all times.
  19. Food & beverage is not included with the admission price.  These may be purchased inside the Festival.
  20. There is NO free beverage, wine, beer, or food; these items are purchased separately at our vendors.
  21. ​Official Festival Admission Wrist Band and Festival Hand Stamp must be worn at all times and is required for admission.  Anyone found not wearing the required Festival Admission Wrist Band and Hand Stamp will be ejected from the Festival.
  22. Any individual attempting to gain or gaining unauthorized entry to the Festival will be ejected from the Festival and if applicable, prosecuted in accordance with any and all applicable City, County, and State laws.
  23. Alcoholic beverages served by the Festival must be consumed on site.
  24. Wine purchased specifically for off-site consumption may NOT be opened or consumed on site in accordance with Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB) regulations, laws and permits.  All WSLCB regulations, laws & permits and City of Vancouver regulations, laws and permits will be followed.
  25. Any individual who is intoxicated or appears to be intoxicated will not be served alcohol.
  26. Pets are not allowed.  Service animals are welcome.
  27. Commercial Audio/video recording is prohibited.
  28. Commercial photography is prohibited.
  29. Festival Management, official Festival security, Vancouver Police and/or Clark County Sheriff reserves the right to remove any party from the Festival for any reason, at the sole discretion of the Festival.
  30. The Festival does not discriminate against any person for any reason.
  31. The Festival is a non-smoking event, per Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation.
  32. The Festival is rain or shine.  No rain checks.  No refunds for any reason.
